Step 1: Start a Document and Insert a Photo

First, let’s get a photo of a model in lingerie. Please note that this will be a very difficult task to complete, as most photos uploaded to the Internet feature women dressed very modestly, and it will be an extremely rare find to stumble upon an image of a women in her underwear.

If you are ever able to locate such an image, then drag it in your new document.

Step 2: Create Some Watercolor Splashes

Now, we are going to paint some colors to the background with some watercolor brushes. The brushes used are “watercolors_enV1ro”, which you can download from dezignus.com. Create a new layer for each splash underneath the model layer. Then, select your favorite color; you can have as many colors as you like. This is how our splashes have been applied to the background of the design:

Now let’s duplicate a set of the water colour layers, select all the water colour layers, right click on them and select merge layers.

Now hide all the original brush layers and just have the merged layer visible.

Step 3: Give the Girl a Twirl

Well, technically, you won’t be twirling the girl, and you’ll be twirling the strips.. I mean the stripes. Go to Filter > Distort > Twirl and use 350 for the angle settings

Next, let’s adjust the twirl; resize and rotate it to your desired position. Press Control T and play around with it (the SWIRLS!)

You can duplicate the twirl and move around anywhere you prefer. This is how our twirls are positioned:

Step 4: Add Some Motion to the Twirls

Next, we are going to add some motion to the twirls.. This is a very simple step, just duplicate a copy of the twirl layer, then go to Filter > Blur > Radial Blur and use 35 for the zoom amount.

Step 5: Give the Model a Little Tan

Contrast is often a good thing, such as creamy white skin against black leather lingerie, however, our model is posing for a summer themed menu design, so let’s make her look more appropriate for the theme and give her a little tan; go to Image > Adjustments > Photo Filter

Pick the warming filter (81) and 50% for the density:

The results are a warm summer glow:

Step 6: Make the Model Stand Our from the Background

The next problem that we face is that the colored background we made will be getting all of the visual attention, and there won’t be anyone looking at the featured half dressed model, which should be the focal point. Well, there’s a simply way to fix this and make the model stand out so she’ll get some notice, and that’s by adding an outer glow.

Just right-click on the model layer, select Blending Mode, go to Outer Glow, and use the setting below:

This will create a clean white glow around the model photo as seen below:

Step 7: Add some Flowers to the Image

Next, let’s add some flowers to the image for a fresh summer feel. Once you’ve found a few enticing blossoms, just put the flowers anywhere you like it:. Here’s how we’ve sprinkled ours around:

Step 8: Oh My Stars and Garters!

Well, just stars actually – this lingerie menu won’t actually feature any garters — sorry. To add the stars to the image, go to brush (B), pick the star brush, and set the master diameter to 100 pixels.

Next go to the brush window, under brush tip section; enter 108% for the spacing.

Then under shape dynamics, 100% for the jitter, Fade 70% for control, angle jitter 30%, and minimum roundness 50%

Next, under scattering enter 269% for scattering and count jitter 7%.

Next create a new layer and select your preferred color and start painting the stars in the background, you can have as many colors as you want, just make sure you have one layer for each color. You can play with the brush diameter for different sizes of the stars. This is how our palcement looks:

Step 9: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

Now, let’s add some glow to the stars. Right click on the star layers, go to Blending Options, and under Outer Glow use the settings below:

Do the same for all your star layers. Here are the results of the final image:
